SPRINGFIELD — Myrtle (Lewis) Gettys, 76, of Springfield, passed away Monday, March 14, 2011. She was born Nov. 3, 1934, in Ironton, the daughter of the late John and Anna Belle (Rowe) Lewis.

Survivors include her children, Rae Ann (John) Howe, Terri Martin, Donna (Paul) Ream and Tammy (Steve) Rust, all of Springfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Hazel Yates of Marion and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Gettys, grandchildren, Stephanie Howe and Kyle Ream; brothers, Miles, Ed and Fred Lewis; sisters, Juanita Fraley, Margaret Kimble, Ruby Murnahan, Gertrude Matney and Bertha Lewis.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Jones-Kenney-Zechman Funeral Home in Springfield. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of the services. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
