Alberta (nee Foit) Jefferys, of Ironton, daughter of the late William and Marie Holtzapfel Foit, beloved wife of the late Matthew R. Jefferys, devoted mother of Richard M. Jefferys (Mary) of Cincinnati, Mary Anne Bohn (Donald) of Charlotte, N.C. and Melinda Griffith (Frank) of Ironton, passed Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at the age of 92. Dear sister of the late Jean Rudman, Dick Foit and Dr. Donald Foit, she is also survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. Alberta spent her life as a homemaker in Ironton and will be remembered as a gentle, caring and loving friend to all. Visitation will be from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St. Ironton, preceding the mass of Christian burial at St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church at noon Monday. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial donations are requested to be directed to Sacred Heart Cemetery, in care of the St. Lawrence/St. Joseph Ironton Catholic Community.
