SOUTH POINT — Larry E. Shepard, 69, of South Point, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011, at his home.

Larry was born Oct. 12, 1941, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Harlan and Marcelene Dunfee Shepard. He was a self-employed general contractor for many years.

Larry is survived by his wife, Robin Shepard; two children, Larry (Karen) Shepard, Jr. and Marcy Deere; three grandchildren, Larry Shepard, III, Lyanne Shepard, and Bobby Deere; one sister, Lucille Rigsby; one brother, Buford Shepard; and the mother of his children, Shirley Shepard.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck McCormick officiating. There will be a gathering for friends and family 1 -2 p.m. Tuesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.schneidergriffin.com.
