Ray I. “Curly” Burcham

Ray I. “Curly” Burcham, 83, of Scottown, entered into eternal rest on April 29, 2011, while at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House in Huntington, W.Va. He was born Aug. 13, 1927, to Stewart G. and Chole Callicoat Burcham. He was a 1945 graduate of Windsor High School, a WWII Army veteran, and was retired from Symmes Valley School District.
Ray is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia Jenkins Burcham; two daughters, Linda Trollinger and Vickie (Danny Ray) Wilson, both of Scottown; a son, Michael (Libby) Burcham of Geneva, Ill.; five grandchildren, Mark Trollinger of Queen Creek, Ariz., Julie Malone of Scottown, Kristie (Steve) Owens of Patriot, Lindsey Burcham of Kirksville, Mo., and Dustin Wilson of Scottown; four great-grandchildren, Drew and Jenna Malone of Scottown and Wyatt and Levi Owens of Patriot; and one sister, Darlene (Frank) Rue of Xenia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gwendolyn Burcham of Scottown and Wanda (Howard) Trollinger; and a brother, J.W. Franklin Burcham of Springfield.
Phillips Funeral Home in Ironton is in charge of the funeral services. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday with Pastor Jeff Duiduit officiating. Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery.
