Patricia Gail Wade, 67, of Ironton, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 1, 2011, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Waterloo native was born Feb. 26, 1944, the daughter of Russie Davis Coffman of Ironton and the late Luther Coffman. She is also survived by her husband of 49 years, John “Jack” Wade, whom she married March 17, 1962.

Mrs. Wade was a 1962 graduate of Symmes Valley High School and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from Ohio University. She was a teacher at Symmes Valley Elementary School for 32 years, retiring in 2006. She was also a member of the First Tabernacle (10th Street) Church in Ironton, where she was a former Sunday school teacher.

She loved traveling and taking care of her family and Harley Joe Boxer. In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Coffman. In addition to her mother and husband, she is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Mike Filkins of Ironton; a daughter, Susan Gail McClellan of Ironton; a brother, Arthur and Sue Coffman of Kitts Hill; two sisters, Lillian and J.E. Brown of South Point and Juanita and John Paholsky of Ironton; four grandchildren, Mandy and Marcus Thompson of Wheelersburg, Megan and Robin Fout of Kitts Hill and John Truby Wade and Michael Filkins, both of Ironton; and a special friend, Nancy Collier of Kitts Hill.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Pancake and Rev. Scott Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
