FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — The Kentucky attorney general says two caregivers have pleaded guilty in the abuse of a mentally disabled patient at a Carter County care facility.

Attorney General Jack Conway said 55-year-old Robert Thompson of Ironton, entered guilty pleas on Tuesday to three separate indictments of knowingly abusing a vulnerable adult and one count of wanton endangerment. Police: Man developed minor sex photos at Walmart

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — A man has been accused of have sexually explicit photos of minors developed at a Walmart store in Barboursville.

Media outlets report state police arrested 27-year-old Dustin Hill of Barboursville at the store on Monday. Investigators say the photos showed teenage girls engaged in sexually explicit conduct.

A criminal complaint says Hill went to the store Monday to develop the photos and a manager recognized him as the same man who had similar photos developed there on April 6.

Cabell County Assistant Prosecutor Sean Hammers says he’s surprised someone would attempt to print such photos in a public place.

Hill was released Wednesday from the Western Regional Jail. He’s charged with distributing or possessing porn of minors engaged in sex.

Jail records didn’t indicate whether Hill had an attorney.

Free mental health screenings at King’s Daughters

ASHLAND, Ky. — Many of our family members and co-workers suffer from depression and anxiety. Recognizing signs and seeking treatment is vital.

In honor of national Mental Health Month, King’s Daughters Medical Center is offering free depression and anxiety screenings 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, and 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 24.

Both screenings will take place at the Health Education Center, lower level of the Lexington Avenue parking facility.

Depression affects more than emotions — it affects behavior, physical health, appearance and sleep patterns.

Anxiety affects the way a person thinks and feels; the worry is often unrealistic or out-of-proportion for the situation and can dominate thoughts interfering with daily functioning such as employment, education, social activities and relationships.

If you, a friend or family member show signs of depression or anxiety, visit the health screenings for information.

Both the public and KDMC Team Members are invited. The screening involves a confidential questionnaire. Counselors and nurses will be available for those who request consultations or referral information.

If you have questions or need additional information, contact Carolyn Flesher at (606) 408-4334 or Kimberly Budig at (606) 408-4813.
