Lonnie Wayne Gibbs, Sr. 57, of Ironton, died Monday, May 2, 2011, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

He was born Dec. 4, 1953, in Ironton, a son of Lon and Carol Remy Gibbs. He was a line worker for General Motors. In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Lonnie Wayne Gibbs, Jr. of New Orleans, LA; two daughters and one son-in-law, Angela Marie and John Lawson of Kenova, W.Va. and Breeann Margaret Gibbs of Ceredo, W.Va.; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Dawn Gibbs of Waterford, Mich. and two grandchildren, John Charles Lawson, III and Brittany Marie Lawson, both of Kenova.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home in Kenova. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point.
