Paul G. Monnig, 86, formally of Pine Grove, died Friday May 7, 2011 in Hospice of Cincinnati, in Blue Ash. He was born Sept. 1, 1924, to the late Otto Steven Sr. and Mary Agnes Boll Monnig. He was the husband of the late Rosemary Laber Monnig. He was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pine Grove. He was a U.S Navy veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by one daughter Paula Henderson, two sisters Mary Monnig and Clara Wilds, two brothers Joseph and Otto Jr. Monnig and one granddaughter.

He is survived by his four daughters Gretta (Kenton) Jordon of Ironton; Julia (Kevin) Sharp of Cincinnati; Angela Monnig of Durham, N.C.; and Linda (John) Sommer of Lebanon; one son, Jerome (Jennifer) Monnig of Ironton; one son-in-law, Tom Henderson of Pine Grove; two brothers, Ambrose (Franice) Monning and Ted Monnig of Ironton; two sisters Ann Sommer of Lebanon, and Sister Regina Monnig of Rochester, Minn.; one brother-in-law Fredrick Wilds, of Ironton; and eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Pine Grove, with father David Huffman officiating. Visitation will be at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home Tuesday 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. with a 12 p.m. Rosary. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Pine Grove Cemetery.
