PEDRO — Helen Felonise (Mom Mom) McCorkle Sharp of Pedro, 82, died Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was born Jan 18,1929, in Lawrence County, the daughter of the John and Mary Willis McCorkle. She was the widow of John Everette Sharp.She was preceded by one brother, Sid McCorkle. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Vic and Mary Sharp of Perdo and Randall and Connie Sharp of Waterloo; grandchildren, Missy and Scott Day of Pedro, John Victor and Tracy Sharp of Waterloo and Candance and Tony Arthur of Ironton; four great grandchildren, Emily Sharp, Victor Lee Day, Lukas Sharp and Charlie Arthur; a brother, Tom McCorkle of Pedro; three sisters, Marjorie Markel, Libby Newman, Faye and Jim Crawford and Janice Kerns, all of Pedro; and many special nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Lawrence Furnace Cemetery with the Rev. Jesse Sizemore officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friday at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home.
