Carl Leslie Delawder, Jr. passed away Monday, May 16, 2011, at his residence at the age of 43. He was born July 5, 1967, in Ironton, to Carl Leslie and Nellie (McCormick) Delawder of Chandler, Ariz. He married Kendra Keller in Marion Aug. 5, 2003.

Carl was an avid fisherman and hunter. He also loved his Akita dogs.

Carl is survived by his wife, Kendra Delawder of Marion; sons, Derek French and Carl Leslie Delawder III of Marion; grandsons, Landon and Carson French; parents, Carl and Nellie Delawder; brothers, Roger (Michele) Delawder of Chandler, Ariz., and Brian (Tricia) Delawder of Marion; sisters, Sheila Rice of Raleigh, N.C., and Winona Delawder of Ironton; uncle, Butch McCormick; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Elva Lee and Winona Verna Brownstead Delawder, and maternal grandparents Ernest and Elizabeth McCormick.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery. Pastor Nick Worden will officiate the service. Friends and loved ones may visit with the family Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
