Chelsea Harper and Dani Crabtree hit home runs as Rock Hill beat the Peebles Lady Indians 4-3 Friday in the Division III district semifinals.

“Peebles was probably the best team we’ve played all year. They had good speed,” said Rock Hill coach Mary Jane Harper.

“We were a little rusty because of the rain and not playing for a week. I’m very proud of the girls and their effort.”

Crabtree’s home run came in the seventh inning and snapped a 3-3 tie that gave Rock Hill the win.

BreeAnna Depriest singled and Harper belted a two-run homer in the first inning to stake Rock Hill to the early lead.

The Redwomen added a run in the fourth.

Brooke Eastham was hit by a pitch, Haylia Gannon singled, and Courtney Damron and Harper walked to force in a run.

Peebles scored singles run in the fifth and sixth to tie the game.

But with one out in the bottom of the seventh, Crabtree slugged a home run to right field to end the game and put Rock Hill in the district finals Saturday where they beat Alexander 4-0.
