PHILO — James S. South, 67, of Philo, died Friday, June 17, 2011, at Genesis Hospital. Jim was born Oct. 30, 1943, in Ironton, the son of the late Samuel and Norma Wilson South.

He retired from Richard Glass Co. in Newark where he worked as a glazer. He was a member of the Living Word Church in Zanesville. Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Lawrence South whom he married Oct. 28, 1986; his son, James (Shelly) South of Zanesville; his stepson, Tim (Tammie) Helsel of Columbus; one brother, Larry South of Columbus; and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Living Word Church, Zanesville with the Rev. Denny Simpson officiating.
