Chester Rase

WHEELERSBURG — Chester Lee Rase, 82, of Wheelersburg, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at SOMC Hospice. He was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Pedro, a son of the late Fred G. Rase and Bertha Marie Myers Rase. Chester was retired from Dayton Malleable in Ironton and attended Pine Creek Free Will Baptist Church. He was married 51 years to Betty L. Dotson Rase, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Paula Roach and husband Roy, of Ironton, Wilma DeCamp and husband Dennis, of Wheelersburg, June Book and husband Rich, of Minford and Patricia Rase Whithers, of Columbus; one sister, Carol Rase, of Pedro; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Rase and Michael Waddell; two brothers, Edward and Lemoine Rase; and three sisters, Dorothy Rase, Helen Rase and Ruth Cook. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Roy Roach and Timothy Roach officiating, with interment at Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice.
