Edna Moore

Edna Russell Moore, 92, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at a local health care center. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 1, 1918, the daughter of the late Ed and Rose Bowen Russell.

Ms. Moore attended Ironton High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of Faith United Nazarene Church for more than 64 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Delores Moore; a granddaughter, Laura Gallagher; two brothers, Ed Russell and Charles Russell; three sisters, Lola Ball, Elizabeth Boll and Mary Cordail.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Wayne Moore Jr. and Jim and Shirley Moore, all of Ironton; two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty and Dan Gallagher and Joyce Rodgers, all of Ironton; three grandchildren, Wesley Wayne Moore and his wife, Teresa, of Ironton, John J. Gallagher and his wife, Jennifer, of Columbus and Molly Snowden and her husband, Phillip, of Ironton; four great-grandchildren, Courtney Moore, Sarah Snowden, Daniel and Andrew Gallagher.

Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with her grandson, Wesley Wayne Moore and Minister Jim Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
