HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia American Water is asking customers in the Huntington and Barboursville areas to conserve water due to a transmission line break.

The break occurred Sunday in a 12-inch transmission line in Huntington.

The company says customers in the area may experience low-water pressure or a disruption in service Monday until repairs are complete.

A water storage tank in Huntington’s east end is operating at low levels until the repairs are complete.

The company has redirected water from its Kanawha Valley treatment plant in Charleston to serve the Ona and Salt Rock areas and is pumping more water from the Huntington treatment plant than usual to help keep the system pressurized.
