SOUTH POINT — Charles Robert Lambert, 65, of South Point, died Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. He was born Jan. 12, 1946, the son of Regina (Harrison) Chaney and the late Thorvald L. Lambert. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Harrison.

Charles (Robbie) was a former employee of Armco Steel in Ashland, Ky. and Proctorville-Rome Water Works, Chesapeake. He served in the army during the Vietnam War era.

He is survived by sons, Charles Robert Lambert Jr. of South Point and Marcus Lambert of Virginia; grandsons, Alex Lambert of South Point and Lance Lambert of Virginia; mother, Regina Chaney of Jackson; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Janet Lambert of Coal Grove; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and John McGowan of Baking Ridge, N.J.; two nephews and a niece.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011 at the Kuhner-Lewis Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Leon Dalton officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson. Online condolences may be sent to www.e-k-lewisfuneral.com.
