LC Airpark to receive federal funding
WASHINGTON, D.C. — New safety improvements will be made at the Lawrence County Airpark.
U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) Tuesday announced that new federal resources were awarded to the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners to rehabilitate runway lighting at Lawrence County Airpark in Chesapeake.
“As one of the region’s reliable airports, the Lawrence County Airpark is vital to keeping commerce and recreational aviation alive in the region,” Brown said. “This funding will ensure that air passengers can travel safely in Lawrence County.”
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration awarded $237,500 to improve safety and efficiency at the airport.
Lawrence County Airpark, a publicly-owned general aviation airport, serves an average of 115 aircraft operations daily.
