David Lynn Jenkins, 34, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, in Ashland, Ky., after a brief illness.

He was born July 13, 1977, in Ironton, a son of Otis Jenkins and Shirley Abrams Jenkins of Ironton. He was preceded in death by a son, David Jenkins Jr., and a sister, Shianne Jenkins.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by six brothers, Carlos Jenkins, Daniel Jenkins, Terry Jenkins and his wife Debbie, Larry Jenkins and his wife, Deborah; Bobby Dale Jenkins and Dustin Jenkins all of Ironton; five sisters: Evelyn Riley and her husband, Michael; Jawanna Jenkins, both of Ironton, Ellen Scott and her husband Anthony of Rush, Ky., Della Triplett and her husband, Rick, of Lexington, Ky.; and Betty Bailey and her husband Roger, of Portsmouth. David also leaves to mourn his passing a host of family and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Willard Large officiating. Burial will follow in the community cemetery in Coal Grove. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the funeral home to assist the family with final expenses.
