PINE GROVE — The Ladies Nine Hole Golf Association of the Ironton Country Club continued its weekly Tuesday morning meetings and golf play through the month of August.

Cecilia Woods hosted last week’s event by serving her homemade recipes. She arranged golf pairings for the ladies and announced the prize events for the day.

The club recognized the family of Ricky Fannin for donating the floral groundwork around the memorial bench that the club placed on the No. 1 tee in his honor.

Also, kudos to Tri-Sate Nursery for its work on two of the greens along with Josh Click’s additional work on the No. 7 tee that adds attraction upon entry onto the course.

Additional work has been done by several Lawco Lake volunteers who have been greatly appreciated.

Woods announced the event winners as Rose Auble, Barb Holmes, Sharon Fox and Jamie Dyer. Other winners announced by Pat Riggs when hostess were: Auble, Johnna Jones, Pat Lambert and Betty Fraley.

Wanda Spears served as hostess and announced Jane Mains winning two events while Shirly Gleim and Jones won one.

The week with Linda Ison as hostess, Dyer, Auble, Lambert and Ison herself won events.

The week Shirly Gleim was hostess, winners announced included Woods, Lambert, Mains, Joyce Fields and Georgia Wilis.

This week’s hostess will be Pat Riggs.
