Homer Donley

WATERLOO – Homer Ray Donley, 60, of Waterloo, passed away Friday, Aug. 26, 2011, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Waterloo native was born May 10, 1951, the son of the late Everette Donley and Eva Gates Donley.

Mr. Donley was a 1969 graduate of Symmes Valley High School. He was a former carman for Amtrak Railroad, a mechanic, and of the Baptist faith. He had lived all of his life in this area and loved spending time with his family, friends and beloved pets.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Barnhart Donley, whom he married May 19, 1971; son, Homer Ray Donley Jr. of Waterloo; and son, Aaron N. Donley of Oak Hill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Glen, Curtis, Charles and Junior Donley.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton with Rev. Dale Knipp Officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Furnace Cemetery.
