ARGILLITE, Ky. — The Ironton Fighting Tigers dropped a golf tri-match Monday with the Russell Red Devils and Greenup County Musketteers.

Greenup County won the match by one stroke over Russell, 166 to 167.

Ironton finished with a 215 total.

The Fighting Tigers were led once again by senior Josh Zornes with a 4-over par 40. Teammate Jaylen Thornhill was next with a 53.

Rounding out Ironton’s scoring were Rhett Ball with a 60 while Travis Taylor carded a 62.

Smith had a 38 for Greenup to take medalist honors.

Ironton hosts Gallipolis, Coal Grove and Chesapeake on Thursday.
