Kathryn Keating

Kathryn Fields Keating, 91, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2011, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Lawrence County native was born Jan. 22, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles E. Fields and Mary Mayenschein Fields.

Mrs. Keating was a 1938 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. She was a homemaker and member of St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Keating on April 4, 1997; two sisters, Violet Thacker and Erma Compliment; and four brothers, Jim, Grover, Charles and Warren Fields.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Connie Keating of Ironton; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Peggy Keating of Ironton; a sister, Norma Cordell of Graytown; five grandchildren, Julie (Chris) Robinson, Amy (Bob) Casey, Joe Keating, Brent Keating and Tim Keating; eight great-grandchildren, Derek Robinson, Samantha Casey, Allyson Casey, Riann Keating, Shelby Keating, Garrett Keating, Sidney Keating and Hannah Keating. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, neighbors and special friends.

Friends may call noon-1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with graveside rites to follow in Calvary Cemetery with Father Thomas Huffman officiating.
