Local law enforcement and emergency agencies continued the search today for a Raceland, Ky., man reported missing Sunday.
Don Nickels, 59, and his wife drove to a section of the Wayne National Forest Sunday afternoon.
“Nickels entered the woods, leaving his wife on the roadway, waiting on him saying he’d be back in 15 minutes,” according to a press release from Sheriff Jeff Lawless.
By 8:30 Sunday night the man had yet to return to the location where his wife waited.
“Nickel’s wife states he has been in the woods in that area numerous times and has been known to stay in the woods several hours,” the release states.

At the time of his disappearance Nickels was wearing blue jeans, an orange shirt, camouflage boots and hat. He wears glasses and has a full beard. The man, who has high blood pressure, is six feet tall weighing 200 pounds and has brown hair and eyes.
