Francis Davis

SOUTH POINT — Francis M. Davis, 66, of South Point, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sybene Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Pastor D.L. Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Union Hill Cemetery, Chesapeake. Francis was born Feb. 20, 1945, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Clarence Davis and Della Mahone Davis Galloway. He is survived by his wife, Norma Sue France Davis; one son, Mark Davis; two daughters, Tammy (Robert) Coeyman and Mary (Tony) Schneider; three brothers, Clarence Davis, Charles Davis and Johnny Davis; four sisters, Betty Brown, Patty Liston, Sue Gordon and Rosa Galloway; and five grandchildren, Tabitha Coeyman, Savannah Coeyman, Katelyn Schneider, Triston Davis and Israel Schneider. Friday may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Sybene Missionary Baptist Church. Slack and Wallace is honored to have been chosen to serve the family of Francis Davis. Gloria Gullett

Gloria Gullett, 66, of Ironton, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

She was born Dec. 27, 1944, a daughter of the late Lindsey Sharp and Evelyn Sharp Gullett. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Gullett; a sister, Mary Skaggs and three brothers, Ron, Timothy and Jim Sharp.

She is survived by two daughters, Lavon McFann and her husband, Eddie, of Ironton and Julie Shope and her husband, Jimmy of Pedro; a son, David Gullett and his wife, Missy, of Pedro; two sisters, Doretta Malone of Morengo and Christine Farmer and her husband, Bill of Sunberry; three brothers, Jerry Sharp and his wife, Debbie, and David Sharp, both of Marion, and Lindsey Sharp of Morengo; and three grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kenny Waller officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Visitation is from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Condolences may be made to the Facebook page for Brown Funeral Chapel.
