SOUTH POINT — It was all about teamwork.
The St. Joseph Flyers used a total team effort on offense and defense to slip past the South Point Pointers 2-1 in a soccer game on Tuesday.
Eli Lewis scored a first half goal off a crossing pass by Joseph Payton.
South Point tied the game and it remained 1-1 until Ike Palmer scored with just 1:04 to play, again with the score due to a pass from Payton.
“The entire team played well,” said Flyers’ coach Dan Blair.
“Nick Roach, Sidney Payne, Cole Willis and Tanner Carte had excellent games in the mid field, and as been the case so far Zach Dalton, Shannon Litton, Aaron Haas, Ike Palmer and Justin Mahlmeister played solid defense.”
The Flyers (3-0-1) host Rose Hill (Ky) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Point dropped to 1-2-3 on the season.
