IPD responds to bomb threat at Speedway
A bomb threat was called into the Speedway on Park Avenue in Ironton early Sunday morning.
The call came in just after midnight, Ironton Police Chief Jim Carey said.
“(The person who made the threat) said the Speedway was going to blow up in an hour,” Carey said. Police cleared the building and searched the area with the help of the Ironton Fire Department. No explosives were found. The store reopened around 1:30 a.m.
No arrests were made. Carey said the call was traced to a payphone at the BP gas station beside Speedway.
