PROCTORVILLE — The Fairland Dragons enjoyed the view as they ran and as they finished.

The Dragons won their own Run-by-the-River cross country invitational on Saturday in a field of seven teams.

Logan Rowe was the overall winner with a time of 16:47 as Fairland had 29 points while runners-up George Washington of Charleston, W.Va., and Huntington, W.Va., had 62 points each.

Gallipolis finished with 128, Meigs 133, Coal Grove 133 and Rock Hill 162.

Ironton, Spring Valley and Huntington St. Joseph did not have complete teams.

Gallipolis won the girls meet with 31 points. Fairland was runner-up with 47 points followed by George Washington with 76, Huntington 90, Ironton 131, Meigs 160 and Coal Grove 173.

Peyton Adkins of Gallipolis was the overall winner with a time of 19:49.
