Ohio zaps Zips, 37-20

AKRON, (AP) — Tyler Tettleton threw two touchdown passes, ran for a score and Ohio scored 20 unanswered points midway through the game to seal a 37-20 win over Akron on Saturday.

Tettleton was 21 of 29 for 328 yards with an interception and also had 23 rush yards for the Bobcats (5-3, 2-2 Mid-American Conference). Donte Harden added 123 rushing yards on 22 carries.

With the score tied 3-3, Tettleton’s 78-yard pass to LaVon Brazill sparked 20 straight points for Ohio. He added a 36-yard pass to Riley Dunlop in the third quarter and a 1-yard run in the fourth.

Clayton Moore threw for 125 yards and a touchdown for Akron (1-6, 0-3).

The game was played as scheduled just hours after authorities discovered the body of an apparent suicide victim inside Akron’s InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field. The man, a former student, was discovered in the stadium’s bleachers at around 10 a.m.
