William D. “W.D.” Kitts

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. — William D. “W.D.” Kitts, 68, of Jonesborough, Tenn., formerly of South Point, died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, in Pekin Hospital in Pekin, Ill.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Cecil Lester and Bro. Taylor Pauley officiating.

Burial will follow with military honors at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, William was born February 20, 1943, in Chesapeake, Ohio, a son of the late Willard Ray and Hazel Pauline Whitley Kitts. He was a retired Turbine Mechanic with BP in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, an active member of Piney Flats First Baptist Church in Piney Flats, Tenn. He served over 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam.

William is survived by his wife of 46 years, Julia Leighty Kitts; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Steven Ray of IL, and Stephanie and Brad Bergemann of West Virginia; four grandsons, Jared, Justin, and Jacob Ray, and Bryant Bergemann; and four sisters, Wilma Schwades, Sally Wells, Marlene Sue Hartman, and Tammy Bailey. Pallbearers will be Keith Pauley, Matthew Pauley, Steven Ray, Brad Bergemann, Bryant Bergemann, and Jared Ray. Honorary Pallbearer will be Justin Ray. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home in Chesapeake. Thomas Blevins

Thomas Blevins, 92, of Russell, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, in the Wurtland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Caroline Cemetery in Raceland, officiated by the Reverend David Price. Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Raceland.

Allene Miller McMahan

FLATWOODS, Ky. — Allene Miller McMahan, 77, of Flatwoods, Ky. died Sunday, October 23, 2011, at Conerstone Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Ky., with Pastor Ron Evans and Rev. Lloyd L. Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Hall Ridge Cemetery in Ashland, Ky. The viewing will be Wednesday, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Naomi Maynard

CHESAPEAKE — Naomi Pauline Maynard, 79, of Chesapeake, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Huntington Health and Rehabilitation in Huntington, W.Va. Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, Luther Maynard. A graveside service and burial will be 2:30 p.m. today at Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. There will be no visitation.
