Halloween events set throughout Tri-State

Communities across the Tri-State are gearing up for their annual Halloween celebrations either Thursday, Oct. 27 or Monday, Oct. 31.

The City of Ironton kicked off the area’s Halloween events with its annual Safe Trick or Treat event Monday.

The Ironton Trick or Treat night is set for Thursday, Oct. 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Village of Hanging Rock and unincorporated areas of Lawrence County will also have Trick or Treat at that time as will the City of Russell, Ky. The Village of Coal Grove will have its Trick or Treat from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. that night.

On Halloween night, Monday, Oct. 31, Trick or Treat times have been set in South Point, Proctorville, Chesapeake, Ashland, Ky. and Huntington, Ceredo and Kenova, W.Va.

In Chesapeake, Trick or Treat will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. while Proctorville will have its from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. South Point will hold Trick or Treat from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Ceredo and Kenova, W.Va. will have Trick or Treat from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 31, followed by Ceredo’s 42nd Annual Halloween Street Party, which will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The event is hosted by the Ceredo Police Department and is held each year in front of the Town Hall.

The event features music, refreshments and treats. The city of Huntington and Cabell County, W.Va. will have its Trick or Treat from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

In Ashland, Trick or Treat will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. citywide.

The City of Ashland, Ashland Park Board in conjunction with King’s Daughters Medical Center will host its Halloween Party in Central Park at the same time at the Bruce Craft Tennis Courts. For children ages 3 to 12, the even features treats, games, a pumpkin patch, musical pumpkins and much more.

Admission is one can of food to be donated to the River Cities Harvest and will be held rain or shine.
