Ronald Lambert

Ronald L. Lambert, 69, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at his residence.

He was a wonderful husband, father, son, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Ron truly enjoyed his life as an AVID sports fan and sports memorabilia collector. He loved cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes, The Marshall Thundering Herd, The Cincinnati Reds, and The Ironton Fighting Tigers. He was just in the ‘Shoe cheering on his Buckeyes and TBDBITL on 10-29-11 thoroughly enjoying his last Buckeye Victory.

Ron was a graduate of Ironton High School (Class of 1960) and Marshall University. Ron retired from Chase Bank in 2007 and had since been enjoying traveling with his wife and family, spending time with his family and friends in Ironton, and enjoying precious time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna M. Lambert, and his father, Clifford R. Lambert.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Lynn Harless Lambert; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Robbie Bowman, of Columbus; a son and daughter-in-law, Deron and Heather Lambert, Ironton; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Lola Lambert, Columbus; and grandchildren, Isabella, Jack and Aden Lambert.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor John Hayes officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Thomas Johnson

HILLSBORO — Thomas Howard Johnson, 79, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Concord Nursing Home in Wheelersburg.

Born Oct.5, 1932, in Lawrence County, he was the son of the late Edgar E. and Hazel Johnson. He was a meat cutter at Kroger’s and was of the Free Will Baptist faith. He was a member of Columbus Masonic Lodge No. 30, Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus, Shriner Syrian Temple of Cincinnati, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two nieces who cared for him, Doris (Bob) Schmidt and Barb Sutton; two sisters, Ruthea (Ronnie) Hampton and Garnet Corwin, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wives, June Grizzell Johnson and Anna Young Johnson and two sisters, Joann Maynard and Betty Lou Harris. The family would like to thank the staff at Concord Nursing Home and Heartland of Hospice for their excellent care.

Funeral services will at conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home in Wheelersburg with Pastor Mike Chaffin officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point. Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Military graveside rites will be conducted.
