Mark Bailey

IRONTON — Mark Allen Bailey, 40, of Ironton passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. He was the son of Charlotte Easterling Bailey and the late Ernest “Bugs” Bailey. He was the husband of Melissa “Missy” Massie Bailey, whom he married December 6, 1999. Mark was a 1990 graduate of Rock Hill High School and a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a laborer for the Pepsi Bottling Company and of the Baptist faith. Mark was an avid hunter, he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved coaching basketball.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jimmy Dale Massie.

In addition to his mother and wife he is survived by a son, Trey Bailey of Ironton; a daughter Paige Bailey of Ironton; a sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Sean Counts of Hurricane, W.Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Rebecca Bailey of Pedro; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Kevin and Robin Blagg of Pedro; a mother-in-law Barbara Massie of Ironton; and a special niece and nephews; Andrew Bailey of Pedro, Robbie and Jenna Counts of Hurricane, W.Va.; Hunter, Ethan and Connor Blagg of Pedro and James Yaden Bailey of Pedro.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Blagg officiating. Burial will follow in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6 till 9 p.m. at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

Paul Weber

IRONTON — Paul F. Weber, 96, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born Oct. 19, 1915, the son of the late Joseph C. and Victoria Geswein Weber. He was the husband of the late of Helen Waginger Weber who he married July 19, 1940, and preceded him in death on March 2, 2009.

Paul was a graduate of Saint Joseph High School and Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the former owner and operator of Weber, Brother’s Florist in Ironton and member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Ironton Elks #177 and the Holy Name Society.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Grayson Weber, five brothers, Ray, Leo, Bob, Billy and Joseph Weber and two sisters, Margaret Mahlmeister and Helen Boll.

He will be sadly missed by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are his nine children, sons and daughters-in-law Fred and Pam Weber, Greg and Rita Weber, Charles Weber and Chris Weber; daughters and sons-in-law: Mary “Sis” and Jim Wipert, Cynthia “Doll” and Dean McDonald, Bonnie and David McGoron, Arlene McClellan, and Beth Weber all of Ironton.

Paul is also survived by seventeen grandchildren: Melissa Kellogg, Jennifer Mullens, Philip Weber, Nick Weber, Matt Weber, Mark Weber, Amanda Weber, Gretchen Cunningham, David Michael McGoron, Erin Wipert, all of Ironton, Ohio, Angie Bonavita of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mary Beth McDonald of Ashboro, NC, Shawn McDonald of Knoxville, Tenn., Carrie Coenen and Sean McClellan of Rogers, Ark., Tracy Duvall of Marshall, Texas, as well as 18 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. The Weber family would also like to give a special thanks to Paul’s caregivers Todd Wiley, Lori Freeman, Jane Blankenship and Janie Blankenship.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday at Saint Joseph Catholic Church with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Diana Watkins

SOUTH POINT — Diana Lynn Watkins, 58, of South Point, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011. She was the wife of Roger Watkins, who survives. Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Sybene Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor D. L. Webb officiating. Entombment will be Monday at Docks Creek Cemetery. Shelley Yates

CHESAPEAKE — Shelley Ann Ash Yates, 37, of Chesapeake, died Friday, November 25, 2011 at home.  She was born March 16, 1974, daughter of Gail Morris Ash of Willow Wood, Ohio, and the late Paul Ash.  In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son Mason Paul Yates; two brothers Stephen (Joyce) Ash and Jeffrey (Joy) Ash; ex-husband Paul E. Yates; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a member of Bethel Temple Assembly of God in Huntington, WV.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville with  Rev. Doug Johnson and Pastor Terry Wagner officiating.  Burial will follow in Perkins Ridge Cemetery, Willow Wood, Ohio.  Visitation will be held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.

 

George Horn

IRONTON — George Edward (Bud) Horn, 57, of Ironton died on Thursday at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Born April 12, 1954, the son of the late Roy David Horn and Carrie Woods Horn, he was a truck driver for Wolohans lumber and a member of the Ironton Moose Lodge. Survivors include: a son Dave Horn of Coal Grove; a daughter and son in-law Cortney and Rob McQuay of Coal Grove; two sisters and brothers-in-law Janet and Pete Mullins of Deering and Lois and Bill Martin, of Coal Grove. Two brothers and one-sister-in law: Bill and Teresa Horn of Franklin Furnace and Tom Horn of Deering. Five grandchildren: Robbie-Lynn McQuay, Frankie McQuay, Matthew McQuay, all of Coal Grove; Emily Horn and Olivia Horn, both of DeForunlac Springs, Fla.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home with Kevin Willis officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
