ROME TOWNSHIP — A Willow Wood man was arrested Saturday and charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and intimidation after a traffic stop in Rome Township Saturday.

Andrew L. McGuire, 21, of 2536 Township Road 177, was arraigned Monday in Lawrence County Municipal Court. Judge Donald Capper set bond at $2,500 cash or surety and scheduled a preliminary hearing for Dec. 12.

According to a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office report, Deputy Jeff Mullins was on patrol at 3:24 a.m. Saturday when he saw two men walking in an area where residents had reported several incidents of break-ins and vandalism.

Mullins activated his cruiser lights and sirens in attempt to get both men to stop. Mullins said in his report McGuire did stop but the other person did not.

Mullins said in his report that an iPod, two GPS systems, a cellular telephone charger and coins were found in the area where the two men had been walking.

McGuire allegedly became verbally abusive to Mullins and was uncooperative when placed under arrest and taken to the Lawrence County Jail.

The other man remains at large.
