Sheldon Clark beats Lady Pointers, 56-46

SOUTH POINT — The Sheldon Clark Lady Cardinals used a balanced offense to beat the South Point Lady Pointers 56-46 on Friday.

Katelyn Newsome had 15 points and Kandice Porter 10 to lead Sheldon Clark. Hannah Spurlock and Kelsey Garcia added 8 points each.

Allison Mitchell scored 24 points to lead the Lady Pointers (0-2).

Sheldon Clark took an 11-8 first quarter lead and pulled away to a 27-18 lead at the break. Mitchell scored 11 of South Point’s total in the half.

Mitchell scored 6 points in the third quarter as South Point cut the deficit to 35-28.

But Porter scored 6 points and Newsome 5 in the fourth quarter to offset 7 by Mitchell to seal the win.
