HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Families will have an opportunity to escape the wintry weather this February and experience free fun.
United Way of the River Cities’ Success By 6 initiative is partnering with 93.7 The Dawg and The Herald-Dispatch to present the 12th annual Super Kids, Super Families, Super Saturday event. The event is Saturday, Feb. 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
Local organizations will provide activities for young children and resources for parents and caregivers about the “12 Tips for Raising a Healthy Child.” The event will also include door prizes and giveaways. The event emcee will be 93.7 The Dawg’s Angie Fletcher.
“This event continues to grow year after year,” said Lena Burdette, community initiatives coordinator. “We are very excited to host this event, and after 12 years, it’s still going strong. This is a popular event that draws families from all over the River Cities to one central location. We hope that they gain knowledge and skills about what Success By 6 is doing in the community.”
Success By 6 seeks to ensure that all children are ready physically, mentally, developmentally, emotionally and socially to begin kindergarten.
