John Breeding

John L. Breeding, 81 of Ironton, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Ironton native was born June 24, 1930, the son of the late Howard and Leva Lewis Breeding. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lawson Breeding.

Mr. Breeding was a graduate of Ironton High School, a Marine Corp veteran and retired from Allied Chemical in 1980. Mr.Breeding was also a member of the Moose Lodge #701 and enjoyed gardening. He was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Andy and Jim Breeding.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, John “Steve” and Tammy Breeding of Coal Grove; two daughters: Karen Robinson and her fiancé, Bill Hard of Holmes Beach, Fla. and Debra Lee Myers of Columbus; two grandsons, John “Stevie” Breeding of Coal Grove and Eric Holderby of Holmes Beach; a granddaughter, Rebecca Cooper of South Point; and two great grandchildren.

John was surrounded by his loving family, Steve, Tammy, Stevie and Karen when he passed away. He will be greatly missed and was deeply loved. He was a kind, gentle and honest man. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. Mr. Breeding’s family would like to give a special thanks to Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital staff for their care they gave to him.

Brenda Farris

SCOTTOWN — Brenda Gail Farris, 57, of Scottown, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. She was the wife of Bobby L. Farris, who survives. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hall Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery. Visitation is 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday.
