SP girls keep pace

SOUTH POINT — The South Point Lady Pointers were up to the challenge.

Needing a win to stay in the Ohio Valley Conference title hunt, the Lady Pointers rolled past the River Valley Lady Raiders 58-27 Thursday.

South Point kept pace with league-leading Fairland with the win. The Lady Pointers are now 14-5 overall and 8-1 in the OVC, one game behind the Lady Dragons.

South Point plays at Fairland next Thursday in the final league game of the season needing a win to earn a share of the title.

Allison Mitchell scored 21 points and Aundrea Bradburn had 12 points to lead South Point. Abbey Winkler added 8 points including a pair of 3-pointers.

River Valley fell to 4-13 and 1-9.

South Point jump out to an 18-7 first quarter lead and it was 31-14 at the half. It was 43-20 after three quarters.
