Keeping career center strong is vital to county

I come to you once again to ask for your support. The support I am asking for is vital to Lawrence County.
I am asking you to vote YES on March 6 for the -LCJVS/Collins Career Center ballot issue, This half-mill levy was passed in 1994 and on the books from 1995 until it expired in 2010.
It has been explained to me that without the passage of this levy the Career Center will enter the 2014 school year with a deficit that will require drastic cuts in programs.
Collins Career Center plays a critical role in the entire Tri-State. The apprenticeship program serves companies such as Liebert Precision Cooling, McGinnis Inc, and Bob Clyse GMC to name a few.
These programs are vital to the businesses as well as the student. It provides on-the-job training and the opportunity for the student to be gainfully employed upon graduation from high school.
In addition to the high school programs, Collins Career Center trains hundreds of students in their adult programs. Area x-ray technicians, paramedics, local deputies and nurses are employed because of the education they received at Collins Career Center.
I personally know the benefit of the programs offered by CCC. I am a 1984 HVAC graduate of the NS and my son recently graduated from the radiologic technology program.
Vote yes and save Collins Career Center as we know it. An education you can put to work.
