Robert Stamper

Robert B. Stamper Jr., 58, loving husband of 35 years to Jeanne Ross Stamper, and wonderful father to Sara Caitlin Stamper, died Mon. Mar. 5, 2012, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Ky.

Born Sept. 28, 1953 in Grayson, Ky., he was the son of Robert (Maggie) Burton Stamper, Sr. and the late Georgette Pennington Stamper.

Rob was a graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He was a self employed dental lab technician and member of Southland Christian Church. Rob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking and backpacking and a true blue UK Wildcat basketball fan. In addition to his father, wife, and daughter, survivors include two brothers, Dave (Patty) Stamper, of Winchester, Ky., and John (Michelle) Nance, of Novi, Mich.; sister, Rhonda (Roger) McIntyre, of Marysville, Ohio; mother-in-law, Joyce Ross, of Lexington, Ky.; brother-in-law, Doug (Michele) Ross, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; lifelong friend, Brent (Janet) Lykins, of Ashland, Ky.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home, 3421 Harrodsburg Rd., Lexington, with Greg Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brent Lykins, Dave Stamper, John Nance, Roger McIntyre, Zach Stamper, Fred Wayman, John Greene, and Edger Lohr, and Ross Stamper. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

 

Vickie Holland

Mrs. Vickie Lynn Holland, 56, of Intercession City, Fla., passed away Monday, March 5, 2012 at her residence, after a short battle with lung cancer.

She was born Feb. 25, 1956, in Ironton, Ohio to surviving parents, James and Jeanette Easterling. She spent 19 years in Marion, Ohio, before moving to Florida in 1978. She is also survived by her husband of 40 years, Hugh E. Holland Jr.; one daughter, Nicole (Jon) Hall of Lake Wales; two sons, Michael (Lori) Holland of Orlando and James Holland of Intercession City; two step daughters, Angela (Joel) Palmer of Tampa, and Jennifer (Shawn) Meadows of Marion, Ohio. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, a brother, James (Susan) Easterling of Alabama; and a sister, Cherie Easterling Schwartz of Seattle, Wash.

Vickie owned and managed Holland Plumbing and A-1 Budget Heating and Air Conditioning Companies for her husband and son. For hobbies she enjoyed reading, golfing, ceramics, painting, and spending time with her grandchildren, and her dear friends at the American Legion.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery Funeral Home and Crematory, 1717 Old Boggy Creek Rd. Kissimmee, Fla. 34744. Burial will follow in the Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery in Kissimmee. The family will receive friends 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. Joseph Altherr

Joseph A. Altherr Jr. (Tony) passed away Tuesday February 28, 2012 at his home in Boca Raton, Fla.

He was born in Ironton on April 13, 1947, the son of the late Joseph A. Sr. and the late Marie Altherr.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jeanne Early Altherr; his son and daughter-in-law Greg and Aisha Altherr of Park City, Utah; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Scott Murphy of Round Rock, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Kristin and Brian McHugh of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Alex and Mark Altherr, Michael, Tyler and Lily Murphy.

A memorial Mass will be noon Monday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cincinnati. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Joseph High School 912 S. Sixth St., Ironton, OH 45638.

 

Linda Lambert

Linda Ann Lambert, 74, of Ironton, Tuesday March 6, at Jo-Linn Health Center.

She was born May 31, 1937, in Huntington W.Va., to the late Monroe G. and Garnet Gregory McCoy.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel Lambert and David Lambert. She was a homemaker.

She is survived her husband, Phillip M. Lambert; a daughter, Valerie A. Carney of Martinsburg, W.Va.; two sons, Michael J. Lambert of Huntington, W.Va. and John E. Lambert of Houston, Texas; one grandson, Robert Carney; and one sister, Clara J. Pearson of Ironton.

There will be no services. Donations are requested in her name to Ironton and Ashland Hospice 1538 Central Ave. Ashland, KY 41101. O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

 

Leonard Burton

Leonard Gene Burton, 65, of Chesapeake, died Saturday, March 3, 2012. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Johnson Tiller Funeral Home of Wayne, W.Va., is in charge of arrangements.

 

Raymond Webb

Raymond Webb, 75, of Ashland, Ky., died Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was the husband of Gloria Webb, who survives.
