‘Sound of Music’ at the Paramount

ASHLAND, Ky. — The Sound of Music will offer four performances at the Paramount, March 22 through 24 at 7:30 p.m. and a 3 p.m. matinee on March 24. This musical is based on the Von Trapp family from Austria, in 1938.

The musical has all of the well-known songs from the movie including “Do-Re-Mi”, “Climb every Mountain”, “16 Going On 17”, “Edelweiss,” “My Favorite things” and MORE! The Sound Of Music is directed and choreographed by Melanie Cornelison, with music direction by Amber Lyon Ferguson.

The role of Maria is being played by Deseriee Sowards and the role of Captain Von Trapp is being played by Joshua M. Jannotta.

Tickets to the show are $20 adults and $12 children. Smartphone owners can hit Facebook Check-in for the Paramount’s new deal and get $8 off the adult ticket price. For more information call the box office at 606-324-3175.

 

Kiwanis Club to host ‘Breakfast with the Easter Bunny’

IRONTON — On Saturday, March 31 your child can receive a free picture of them with the Easter Bunny at a pancake breakfast sponsored by the Ironton Area Kiwanis Club.

The event is being held from 9 a.m. until noon at the Ironton City Center, 301 S. 3rd St., Ironton, OH 45638.

A $5 donation includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, coffee, tea and milk. Children 2 and under are free.

Tickets can be purchased at Ironton AAA travel agency, Liberty Federal Savings Bank, Ohio River Bank and Tim’s News & Novelties.

Proceeds from Kiwanis fundraising activities help support various local projects, programs and agencies Ironton and Lawrence Country.

Kiwanis International is a global organization of members of every age who are dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at time.

The Ironton Area Kiwanis Club meets at Ironton City Center in downtown Ironton every Thursday at noon. Perspective members and visitors are always welcome.

Murder mystery theatre set
