An open house reception will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at U.S. Bank, 120 South Third Street in Ironton in honor of George Moore, who is celebrating his retirement after 37 years.

Jack Imes, U.S. Bank commercial team leader, made the announcement last week.

“We have appreciated George’s devotion to his customers and fellow employees and wish him well in the next exciting phase of his life,” Imes said. “George has left a great team in place at the Ironton office, including Amanda Stewart who is replacing him as the commercial relationship manager and Doris Bradley who is the loan documentation specialist.

“Amanda has been with the bank six months and Doris has worked at the bank for the past 32 years. The team will continue to provide great service to our customers and carry on George’s commitment to the community.”

Moore, a Franklin Furnace native, started his banking career at The Portsmouth Banking Company which later became Star Bank, Firstar Bank and then U.S. Bank.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at the bank and the support of my efforts in the community,” said Moore. “I’ve always loved serving our customers and watching families and businesses grow and prosper. I will greatly miss seeing them and my coworkers on a regular basis in the office.”

After he retires, Moore plans to continue with his volunteer work at the Green Township Volunteer Fire Department and relaxing with his wife, Brenda, as well as spend some time with his two children and four grandchildren.
