PORTSMOUTH — The Green Lady Bobcats can’t hide it.

The Lady Bobcats youth led to four errors and other mistakes in a 10-7 loss to the Portsmouth Lady Trojans on Tuesday.

“We have a lot of youth and it showed,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

“The sun was tough, but we misjudged fly balls, we had miscommunications and we just had a lot of mental errors. Hopefully we’ll get that corrected.”

Jenna Crawford was 3-3 for the Lady Bobcats (0-2) including a pair of home runs. Kayla McCallister was 2-4 as Green banged out 11 hits.

Crawford hit a home run to lead off the game and her two-run homer in the second inning gave Green a 4-0 lead.

Portsmouth got two runs in the bottom of the inning, one in the third and then the Lady Trojans erupted for seven runs in the fifth.

The Lady Bobcats scored three runs in the seventh inning.

Erin Imes doubled and Micah Lewis had an RBI single. Sammi Crisp followed with a run-scoring single and came around to score on a ground out by Abby Cline.
