LLOYD, Ky. — To error is human, but this is getting out of hand.

The South Point Lady Pointers were guilty of seven errors that enabled the Greenup County Lady Musketeers to rally for a 7-6 win in eight innings on Thursday.

In fact, two errors led to the winning run. An error on the leadoff hitter in the eight was followed by a single by Emily Byrd and then another error.

South Point (0-1) took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. A walk to Kaitlyn Brown and singles by Hannah Carey and Andi Kleinman produced the first run and Rachel Murnahan’s double scored two more.

Bonnie Hileman walked, moved up on a wild pitch and scored on Carey’s single to make it 4-0 in the second.

Murnahan singled and pinch-runner Alex Ross-Aaron came around to score on a passed ball and it was 5-0 in the third.

Greenup got three runs in each the fourth and fifth innings. The Lady Pointers added a run in the fifth on a home run by Murnahan to right-center.

Murnahan went 3-3 with two runs batted in. Carey was 2-4 as South Point had eight hits.
