Paula Kelly

Mildred Paula Kelly, 90, of Savannah, Ga., passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. She was born to Pearl Violet Simmons and Lawrence Ashby on April 18, 1921, in Salt Lake City, Utah, but reared in Ironton.

Paula was a 1946 graduate of Ironton High School. She served as the Lawrence County Court Reporter under Judge Earhart for many years. After moving to Cincinnati in 1965, she entered the banking world. First with First National Bank, then finally, with Fifth Third Bank where she rose to the position of trust officer. Upon her retirement, she moved to Savannah, where she lived a full life filled with many friends. They and her family will miss her. She has returned to God where peace and love will surely surround her.

She is survived by a daughter, Anita Marianna Dalton of Stafford, Va.; three grandchildren, Leonora Bylar of Austin, Texas, Maria Ogino of Chicago, Ill. and Iris Kelley of Ironton; four great grandchildren, Olivia Kelly of Boulder, Colo., Holden Kelley and Milena Kelley, both of Ironton, and Miles Ogino of Chicago and half brother, Cameron Ashby of Henderson, Nev.

Family and friends will celebrate her life at a later date. Phillips Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be made to PhillipsFuneralHome.net.

 

Sandra Ford

Sandra Lutz Ford, 56, of Ironton, was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, March 30, 2012, at the Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital with her husband, Coss (Dickie) Ford III, by her side.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Quinn Chapel AME Church in Ironton with the Rev. James Stowe officiating. Keeping with her wishes she was cremated. Memorial donations should be made to her husband to help with expenses. Her husband has entrusted her care to Brown Funeral Chapel.

 

Jean Lovejoy

Jean W. Lovejoy, 86, of South Point, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center. There will be no services. Arrangements are by Hall Funeral Home.
