It was one amazing run. Why not relive its great moments.
Ironton fans can celebrate the golden era of Fighting Tigers’ football by attending a dinner to celebrate the retirement of long-time head football coach Bob Lutz and assistant Mike Burcham that will be held Saturday, April 28, at the Knights of Columbus Hall with proceeds to benefit the Ironton Turf Project.
The dinner will be from 6 to 10 p.m.
The DVD of “Lutz and Burcham: A Winning Duo” will be available. The DVD was produced by Sam and Penny Heighton. A separate video will be available with highlights of the 1972-2011 tenure including the state championship games.
For more information or to order those DVDs or previous Ironton games, contact Sam or Penny at (740) 532-7951.
The dinner offers finger foods, desserts, a cash bar, a 50/50 drawing, door prizes and auction items, many supplied by coach Lutz.
Tickets for the affair are $30 each or $50 per couple. Tickets are available at Ironton Physical Therapy, Ohio River Bank, Ironton High School, the Ironton School Board office and from turf committee members.
If anyone is unable to attend but would still like to make a contribution, tax deductible donations can be made payable to Friends of Ironton and mailed to P.O. Box 4181, Ironton, Ohio 45638, or mail to Ironton Turf Project, c/o Ohio River Bank, Jodi Rowe-Collins, 221 Railroad Street, Ironton, Ohio 45638.
