FRANKLIN FURNACE — Jenna Crawford has been hitting well all season, and she didn’t stop on Friday.

Crawford hit a one-out home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Green Lady Bobcats a 7-6 Southern Ohio Conference win over the Sciotoville East Lady Tartans.

“Crawford played well again. She’s been hitting the ball a ton all year,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Crawford was 2-4 with two runs batted in as Green had seven hits. Erin Imes and Micah Lewis also went 2-4.

Crawford got the win as she struck out eight, walked two and gave up seven hits.

Green (7-6, 4-3) got four runs in the first inning. Crawford doubled, Sammi Crisp walked and Imes’ fly ball to center was dropped to score a run. Lewis singled home two runs and then scored on Kayla McCallister’s ground out.

Crisp reached on an error and scored on Imes’ double in the third to make it 5-1.

East got a run in the fourth and sixth innings but Green scored in the sixth when Devon Johnson got to third base on an error and scored on Crawford’s deep sacrifice fly to center.

East scored three in the seventh to tie the game and set up Crawford’s winning hit.
