PEDRO — The lineup was virtually new, but the results were more of the same.

Green put a group of backups in the starting lineup to go with veteran pitcher Cody Bruce and the result was the Bobcats’ 10th win in 14 games as they beat the New Boston Tigers 14-0 in five innings on Saturday in the Rock Hill Wooden Bat Tournament.

Bruce, now 4-0, fired a one-hitter, struck out 10 and walked two in getting the win.

Billy Ratliff was 2-2 with a run batted in as Green collected nine hits.

“Today we got some nice plays from players who don’t usually get to play and they did a nice job,” said Green coach Dan McDavid. “We did a nice job offensively, but Cody Bruce threw the ball well. He pretty much shut them down.”

Ratliff singled, stole second and scored on a pair of wild pitches as Green took a 1-0 lead in the first.

Jacob Blevins walked and went to third base on a couple of wild pitches to start the second. Matt Howard walked and the duo pulled off a double steal for a win. Ratliff then singled in a run.

Chris Vestal singled and Trevor Cronk and Luke Eskridge had RBI singles as Green went up 5-0 in the third.

The Bobcats put the game away with nine runs in the fourth.

Mike Avery and Caleb Johnson walked, Adam Riffitt reached on an error and Steve Ratcliff walked to force in a run.

Colton Brammer’s infield hit scored a run, Bruce and Clay Applegate walked to force in runs, Howard had a two-run single, Avery and Johnson walked and Riffitt singled in a run.
