PROCTORVILLE — As they say at the black jack table, “Hit me.”

The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers were in a “hit me” mood Friday as they collected 11 hits in a 9-2 win over the Fairland Lady Dragons.

Rebekkah Potter and Karlee McMackin led the hitting attack. Potter was 3-4 with three runs batted in while McMackin was 3-4 with a double and a triple.

Laken White was 2-4 and Meghan Taylor added a double.

“We hit the ball well and made things happen,” said Ironton coach Missy Fields. “Fairland is a good team. We played with intensity tonight and we were able to come out on top.”

Erin Wetzel gave up just three hits to get the win for Ironton (10-4). She walked three and did not have a strikeout.

Jaimie Philips was 1-3 with a double for Fairland. Caitlin Stone and Haley Woodall also went 1-3.

Ironton took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second when White singled, moved up on an error and scored on Meghan Taylor’s double.

Fairland (9-3) took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the inning.

Chelsey Stanley reached on an error, Mackenzie Riley walked, Arealle Rice hit into a fielder’s choice and Kerie Napier walked to start the rally. Stone hit into a fielder’s choice as a run scored and Stanley walked to force in a run.

Ironton regained the lead in the fifth with two runs.

Wetzel and Emily Davis walked and courtesy runner Ariel Whitt stole third base. Saige Fields hit a sacrifice fly and Potter drilled an RBI single.

The Lady Tigers then scored six times in the sixth inning.

McMackin doubled with one out, Kelsey Hackworth reached on an error and Wetzel walked. Davis singled for two runs and Potter followed with a two-run single.

Andi Kratzenberg walked and White smacked a two-run single.
