FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Green Lady Bobcats were a big hit.

Like, 17 big hits.

Green ripped 17 hits and beat the Eastern Lady Eagles 13-7 in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Friday.

“It was a nice bounce back win after the tough loss to Portsmouth. The girls hit the ball well and played hard. It was a nice win,” said Green coach Dale Royse.

Jenna Crawford went 2-5 and picked up the win as she struck out six and walked three.

Erin Imes was 3-4, Micah Lewis 3-5 and Sammi Crisp 2-3 to lead the Green offense. Lewis and Imes had two doubles each while Crisp and Crawford also doubled.

Eastern took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but Green tied it in the bottom of the inning when Crisp doubled and came home on two passed balls.

The Lady Cats took a 3-1 lead in the second. Devon Johnson was hit by a pitch and Krashawna Jones, Kaitlin Hodson and Lewis all singled.

Eastern tied the game in the top of the third only to have Green go back in front 4-3 in the bottom of the inning on a double by Imes, a sacrifice by Jones and Johnson’s base hit.

Eastern regained the lead at 7-4 with four runs in the fourth. Green came right back with two runs in the bottom of the inning.

Crisp walked, Crawford doubled and Imes had a two-run single.

The Lady Bobcats took the lead for good with five runs in the fifth.

Emma Salisbury and Rayna Boggs singled, Lewis doubled home a run and Crisp, Crawford, Imes and Kaya McCallister all followed with RBI singles.

Two insurance runs scored in the sixth when Salisbury singled, Boggs hit into a force play, Lewis had an RBI double and eventually scored on a pair of passed balls.

Green visits Western on Monday.
