Panthers, Pointers deadlocked

SOUTH POINT — The pitching didn’t have to stop the offenses because darkness did.

The Chesapeake Panthers and South Point Pointers were tie 6-6 when their game was called after eight innings due to darkness.

The will be completd next week.

Chesapeake left the bases loaded in the top of the first inning and South Point came back to score twice in the bottom of the frame.

The Panthers got two runs in the fourth when Brett Curry and Jacob Eddy scored on Blake Lester’s base hit.

Chesapeake got a run in the fifth when Hunter Bare walked, stole second and third and scored on a passed ball.

The Pointers got four runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 6-3.

The Panthers scored a run in the sixth on a ground out by Mikey Walters and tied the game with two runs in the sixth.

Curry went 6.2 innings for the Panthers allowing 11 hits and striking out nine.

Chesapeake 000 211 20 = 6

South Point 200 040 00 = 6

Game suspended due to darkness.
